Arthur (Art) J. Samberg, a New York-based investor and philanthropist with decades of experience in the hedge fund marketplace, gives back to his local community by sitting on boards and making sizable donations to worthy causes. A member of the Board of Trustees and the Executive and Investment Committees of NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, Art J. Samberg endowed a scholars program at the medical center’s Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital with $25 million, a donation that allowed for the appointment of 10 new physicians in the program’s first year.
Complementing his background in philanthropy, Arthur J. Samberg established and led a hedge fund firm, Pequot Capital Management, Inc., in Westport, Connecticut, for 23 years (including predecessors). Currently, Art Samberg owns and operates Hawkes Financial, LLC, his family office, in Katonah, New York.
In preparation for his career, Arthur Samberg enrolled at Columbia Business School, which awarded him his master of business administration. Earlier, he studied at Stanford University, where he earned his master of science in aeronautics and astronautics, and Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he completed his bachelor of science, also in aeronautics and astronautics.
